Christie Front Drive
Christie Front Drive is a great band with a great sound. The band manages to present a melody that quite perfect in my opinion. Slow to the start and a pick up at the right time and lyrics to bring the whole sound to perfection. The band formed in Denver, Colorado in 1993. Christie Front Drive is Eric Richter (guitar and vocals), Jason Begin (guitar), Kerry McDonald (bass), and Ron Marschall (drums). The band released its first self-titled EP and a 7” on Freewill records in 1994; those first two records and several others where later combined and released as a self-titled full length album also called Anthology. In 1995 they released several splits with Jimmy Eat World, Sineater, and Boys Life (see my first post). While also contributing to many compilation albums including a great one from Crank! Records by the name of (Don’t Forget To) Breathe. In 1997 the band broke up and later released the album “Stereo” on Caulfield Records. Christie Front Drive has had a major influence on emo music both during their life and after. The members have moved on to other bands and have continued creating good and great music. Richter went onto Antarctica, The 101, and Golden City, and both Begin and Marchall went on to form The Blue Ontario. I recommend that you guys find you a copy of both albums and give a thorough listening.
